  Muskegon is located in the midwestern state of Michigan. It is a city that is part of Muskegon County, and also serves as its county seat. Caberfae Peaks Ski and Golf Resort is home to a ski lodge and a massive stone fireplace that is two levels high. The resort consists of some of the highest lift-served peaks in the entire state, and also some of its largest vertical drops. There are 34 runs, which serve novice, intermediate and advanced skiers. • Shanty Creek Resorts is situated in Bellaire, Michigan, and is approximately a three hour drive from Muskegon. Shanty Creek Resorts consists of two skiing mountains, as well as four championship-style golf courses, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, extensive conference and meeting facilities (more than 36,000 square feet), an exercise center and wellness spa. Mt. Brighton Ski Resort

• Mt. Brighton Ski Resort is in Brighton, Michigan and is just under two and a half hours away from Muskegon. Mt. Brighton Ski Resort is a winter sports playground that consists of 130 skiable acres, seven chair lifts, 26 trails and 11 surface lifts. The terrain park spans 15 acres and offers features including jumps, boxes and rails. Rental equipment is available, with helmets, snowboards and skis. Nub's Nob Ski Area

• Nub's Nob Ski Area is in Harbor Springs, Michigan, less than four hours away from Muskegon. Nub's Nob Ski Area is a hub for both skiing and snowboarding, consisting of 53 skiing trails and slopes over three different peaks. Seasonal ski passes are available. Equipment rental is also provided, with ski bindings, junior and adult skis, helmets, snowblades, snowshoes, ski boots and more.
