How to Find Out the Voter Registration Date
- 1). Go to DeclareYouself.com, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that does not support or endorse any political candidate or party.
- 2). Click on the gray "Voting FAQ," which is located at the top of the page.
- 3). Locate the blue "State by State Info" tab on the right-hand side of the Voting FAQ page and click on the tab.
- 4). Select the first letter of your state's name from the A through Z list located directly below "State by State Voter Laws and Registration Deadlines."
- 5). Scroll down your state's letter page until you locate your state.
- 6). Read the information provided for your state. The heading "Registration Deadline" is in bold. Dates are generally given in number of days before an election.
- 7). Use a calendar to count the number of days before an election. Count the day before an election as "day one."
- 8). Keep counting until you count up to the number of days before an election. For example, for 15 days before an election, stop counting once you land on "day 15" -- that calendar date is the last day you can register in your state.
