Scoop up as much ketchup from your carpeting as possible, using a spoon. Dispose of it in a garbage bag. - 2). Blot at the stain with white paper towels until there's no further transfer of ketchup to the towels.

Mix 1 tsp. ammonia with 1/2 cup water in a spray bottle. Spray the ketchup stain liberally with the ammonia solution. Blot up with paper towels. - 4). Tackle the remaining ketchup stain with a solution made of 1/4 tsp. mild dishwashing liquid mixed with 1 qt. water. Spray the ketchup stain remnant with the soapy solution and blot until the solution and remaining stain is gone.
- 5). Allow your carpet to air dry.
