You might be one of those people who wish the summer would not come so early - before they have managed to get in shape.
So what is one to do when caught off guard and having to lose weight in a speedy manner in order not to look bad in the summer? Here is a great weight loss system, which is not a diet and works wonders.
The name of this system is "Eat Stop Eat," and it was created by Brad Pilon.
The main principle in this system is that you are supposed to go on 1 or 2 24-hour fasts every week.
In these fasts you will not consume any calories, and after these periods are over you can eat anything you like.
Sounds simple, right? But how could this be of any help in losing weight? Most dietitians presume that it is impossible to lose weight if you deprive your body of calories for long hours.
The widespread opinion is that if you body is not getting regular calories it goes into energy-saving mode and slows down your metabolism.
Brad Pilon, the author of this system, does not go directly against this assumption.
However, he argues that this energy-saving mode is not activated until after 24 hours have passed since you last ate.
So what happens in those first 24 hours? Instead of saving energy, your body does exactly the opposite and goes on to burn calories in faster rates than ever before.
Scientific studies have shown that a special fat burning hormone called glucagon is at its highest level exactly in these first 24 hours after the fast has started.
Therefore, it is recommended that you fast for 24 hours once or twice per week.
The best way to go about this would be to eat dinner and then not consume any calories until dinner on the following day.
Sounds challenging, but just imagine that in fact you are talking about just 12 hours from morning until evening, as you are not hungry after dinner and then sleeping in the first 12 hours.
Moreover, you can eat anything you want after these 24 hours.
Consequently, "Eat Stop Eat" is not really a diet but rather an intermittent fasting program, which allows you to challenge your body in the proper way to burn fat.
This system definitely works, but it is not recommended that you go for it before you have researched some other programs as well.
Only after you have seen enough of them could you make an educated decision on what to choose.
