The fact that we are still well and alive is a good thing; the fact that we still have a roof on top of us is a good thing; the fact that we still have friends and families is a good thing. There are many good things around us if we choose to open our mind and eyes to see them.

Think positive and look at the bright side of life is a good beginning point to work from. Make a list of everything good in your life. Take time to think about it, and you will come up with more than you expect. Small things count, too, like the beautiful sunrise you saw this morning or an unexpected smile from a stranger.

2. Surround yourself with positive people and stay away from negative people. Negative people are dangerous, they can easily influence and pull you down, so please stay away from them! Surround yourself with positive people instead, spend your time with people who share positive attitudes, goals, and beliefs. These kinds of people can help raise your spirits when times are tough.

If you are religious, your church is a good place to find supportive people. If you are not a religious person, there are plenty of groups, both online and offline, where you will find like-minded, happy, positive, and supportive influences. Search in your community or do an online search for forums with your interests.

3. Learn a new thing, pick up a new hobby. Have you been longing to do something that you really enjoy? Why not do it now? Make yourself busy with positive activities. Try to learn new thing every single day. Life is too short to waste, so enjoy it while you can by doing thing that you really like to do.

4. Exercise regularly and keep moving! Exercise is one of the best ways to feel better. You will have more energy and it is a great mood-booster as well. Start small if you need to, but work your way up to 3-5 times of focused exercise per week. While at a sport center or gym, get to know new people and make new friends.
