- 1). Check the hygrometer in the humidor. The humidity should be around 70 percent. If it has fallen below this point, you need to re-moisten the oasis.
- 2). Remove the moist element of the oasis. This usually consists of unbuckling a little piece of plastic or opening a small door and sliding the element out. Moisten it thoroughly with distilled water. It should be wet, but not dripping.
- 3). Place the element back in the oasis and put the container back inside the humidor.
- 4). Check the hygrometer again after 24 hours. Repeat the steps until the humidor reaches 70 percent or a bit above.
- 5). Check the cigars and the hygrometer for humidity on a regular basis.
