If you have looked at purchasing a DSLR camera then you will know how difficult it is to pick between one.
There are so many different words that you may not understand such as: ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture value, burst mode, evaluative metering and many more confusing words thrown around by sales people trying to impress you.
I'm not a salesperson I'm a photographer and today I'm going to get rid of all this jargon that you may or may not understand and explain to you exactly what you need to look out for when purchasing a DSLR camera.
Digital photography is far more accessible than it used to be and beginner DSLR cameras are much more affordable than they have ever been.
Digital photography also eliminates paying for expensive film and allows you to take as many photos as you want without having to worry about wasting any money.
What to look out for If your upgrading from a normal digital camera then you may already know a little bit about photography, however when using a DSLR camera you now have to use more settings to create the perfect image.
Some cameras confuse the users very quickly and they begin to think that purchasing a DSLR camera was the wrong idea, however if you select the right entry level DSLR camera then you will be pleased to know their very easy to use.
Some manufacturers create cameras with buttons here, there and everywhere.
This can easily confuse a beginner photographer so I highly recommend getting a beginner DSLR camera that's easy to use and is aimed at the entry level photographer.
You should also keep an eye out for a camera that isn't too big or too heavy and one that's well built but still affordable.
One such camera is the Canon EOS Rebel XS.
I know this is a great entry level DSLR camera because this was the camera that I started off with and before owning this camera the only other camera that I had used before was a dispensable one.
When I was researching entry level cameras I narrowed the choice down to the Sony Alpha A230, The Nikon D3000 and the Rebel XS.
After playing around with all of them for a few hours I could tell the Canon was the better of the three.
It was much better built, easier to hold and even felt lighter than the others.
If you're looking for the perfect entry level DSLR camera then get the Canon Rebel XS.
