There is a huge market for geek gifts because it's a subculture that has disposable income and generally spends it on comic books, anime and black t-shirts with clever sayings on the front. If you're looking for a gag gift for a geek, there's a wide selection available in a range of prices, from affordable to extravagant. Cthulhu themed presents are usually appreciated, as are tentacle themed ones. You can safely pick something with a zombie, ninja, pirate or a bacon theme and know that it will probably delight a geek. As a disclaimer, you should make sure the gag gift you're buying is for a geek and not a nerd. The difference between the two is that geeks are interested in science fiction, comic books and fantasy and nerds are interested in hard science, computers and how things work.

    Giant Microbe

    • These diseases are magnified into cute little plush versions of themselves with a tag attached detailing facts about the disease. You can give the geek in your life anything from E-coli to a flesh eating disease to Chicken Pox.

    AV Club Pennet

    • A soft felt pennet showing what the geek in your life was really interested in back in high school.

    Samurai Sword Handle Umbrella

    • This black umbrella's handle looks like a samurai sword and comes in a nylon scabbard with an adjustable shoulder strap, so, whenever it rains, your geek can pretend to be a ninja and fight the weather with his trusty umbrella.

    Stress Freud

    • Freud's head is lonely all by itself, but it comes in a soft squishy foam you can squeeze when you're stressed. Better than therapy.

    Cryptozoological Play Set

    • Cryptozoology is the study of species that don't technically exist. This play set includes five tiny monsters that have been hiding from humans up until now: the Chupacabra, Jersey Devil, Bigfoot, Mothman and the Loch Ness Monster. Available through Archie McPhee, this Cryptozoological play set will look great on a desk and provide hours of entertainment.

    Boxer Shorts

    • There are all sorts of geeky boxer shorts on the market. You can find boxer shorts featuring He-man fighting Skeletor or a pair with dinosaurs all over them. Just do a simple search online for your geek's favorite comic or cartoon followed by the words "boxer shorts" and you'll likely find out they exist.

The Ladies of Star Wars Playing Cards

    • Slave Leia is the Queen of Hearts in this deck of playing cards.

    Brain Themed Memorabilia

    • If you're dealing with a Zombie loving geek or a run of the mill geek, anything brain themed, from salt and pepper shakers to gelatin dessert molds is a good bet for a great gag gift.

    Literary Horror Mash-ups

    • A book like "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is a great gift idea for a geek. There have also been other horror mash-ups that have come out recently, including "Android Karenina," "Mansfield Park and Mummies," "Jane Slayr," and "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters." Any of these books would make a great gag gift for a geek.

    Bacon Tuxedo Joke Gift Box

    • You have to see this one to believe it. A great gift box to wrap your gag gift in, this bacon tuxedo box features a claim that it comes from "Stan's Formalwear" and pictures an Asian man lounging on a cheesy photo set wearing a bacon tuxedo on the front and on the back is a picture of three elementary school aged kids wearing matching bacon tuxedos. The side of the box says, "If you find a better Bacon Tux, I'll refund your money, plus throw in 5 lbs. of thick-cut bacon for your trouble."
