How to Adjust the Wrist Straps on Leki Trekking Poles

    • 1). Take notice of how the original strap is threaded through the grip of your pole. It will be important later to duplicate this, so make a note of it.

    • 2). Pry up the pin on the top of the grip. It will be either black or white, and should easily pop up. Use a flathead screwdriver if necessary to do this. The pin will disengage the strap and allow you to slide it out of the grip.

    • 3). Tightly pinch the nylon strap in place (grasp all three layers of the strap together) and pull it out of the grip, making sure to keep a tight hold on it.

    • 4). Adjust the strap looser or tighter, depending on your needs, by making the wrist loop small or bigger. Keep the configuration of the three nylon straps the same, however, around the black or white cam that they are wrapped around.

    • 5). Pinch the straps together tightly again, making sure that both holes line up and won't move on you. Make sure that the split in the nylon strap (it will have a hole running down its center for a short distance) is still located directly over the cam. Through the hole in the strap, make sure you can also see the hole in the cam (which is where the pin at the top of the grip goes to lock it all together).

    • 6). Slide the strap back into the hole in the grip where you originally took it out, keeping it held tightly.

    • 7). Work the pin at the top of the grip back through the hole of the nylon and the hole of the cam, until it locks into place. It should be flush with the top of the grip when completed.

    • 8). Test the straps, making sure that they are secure and will not unravel. If they seem fine, your straps have been adjusted.
