Motorways, or highways in America, are called Autobahns in Germany. The highway system started in 1913 and was expanded by Hitler to easily move his army around Germany. As of 2007, there more than 7,700 miles of highways criss-crossed Germany. When traveling in Germany, Autobahns are your best bet because there are many service areas and hotels along the way. - Nürnberg's old city dates back to 1050 and is famous for the war crime trials after World War II.
