Nothing is nicer on a cold night than snuggling up to a soft kitty in bed with you.
But, not much is worse than crawling into bed and laying down on a cold, wet spot that turns out to be cat pee.
If you have cat problems such as this, you really need to do something about it.
A lot of the time, once a cat starts peeing in a certain spot, they will continue to do so.
This is a habit that must be stopped immediately.
Never mind rubbing your cats nose in the wet spot.
Sure, they are really smart animals, but by the time you find the spot, it is highly likely that your cat has forgotten doing her business there in the first place.
So, they will not understand why they are being punished, and therefore will continue this bad behavior.
The first thing you need to do is make sure that the litter box is clean enough.
Sometimes all it takes is one little lump for a cat not to want to use their box, and they will then find another place to pee, usually on your bed or another soft surface.
Start cleaning the litter box more often, and your problem may go away very quickly.
If you are cleaning the litter box regularly and you still have cat problems like peeing on the bed, then you should make an appointment with your vet and take your cat in for a check-up.
There are some medical conditions that will make your cat pee outside of its litter box, so you need to rule these out.
If there is no medical source, then you have to do a little bit more digging (no, not in the litter box) to find out the source of the problem.
It may be something really simple, and it is a good idea to start studying your cat's actions, so you can see why it may be peeing on your bed.
