Definition:
Fausta (Flavia Maxima Fausta) was the daughter of Roman emperor Maximianus Herculius, the sister of Maxentius, the wife of Constantine I and the mother of their sons Constantine, Constantius, and Constans and their daughters Constantina and Helena. Constantine honored his wife with the title of Augusta at the same time he so honored his mother Helena, in 324 A.D. Constantine may have executed his wife Fausta in 326 in a bath or bathroom where the heat appears to have been the cause of death either through suffocation or scalding.
