How to Adjust Lawn Sweeper Brushes
- 1). Use your lawnmower to cut a swath of grass long enough to accommodate the lawn sweeper.
- 2). Place your lawn sweeper on the swath of cut grass. Bend down or get on your hands and knees to view the sweeper brushes in relation to the cut grass. Sweeper brushes should be approximately 1/2 inch above the cut grass.
- 3). Look at the front of the lawn sweeper. Most lawn sweepers have an adjustment handle in front, in the center.
- 4). Loosen the handle by turning it to the left. Move the handle to adjust the sweeper brushes up or down until the brushes are 1/2 inch above the cut grass. Tighten the handle by turning it to the right.
- 5). View the left or right drive wheel on models that do not have a handle adjustment in the front of the sweeper. On the inside of this wheel there will be an adjustment bolt to adjust the sweeper brushes. Use the adjustable wrench to loosen this bolt and adjust the height of the sweeper brushes. Tighten the bolt when the brushes are 1/2 inch above the cut grass.
- 6). View the height of the sweeper brushes in relation to the cut grass several times while using the sweeper. Stop sweeping and readjust the brushes to 1/2 inch above the cut grass as needed.
