How to Troubleshoot a '91 Ford Explorer 4x4
- 1). Examine the rear wiper to determine if it is making full contact with the rear window. If not, replace both the wiper blade and wiper arm to remedy the issue.
- 2). Check the power-steering fluid to ensure adequate levels. Failure to change the fluid when appropriate will cause the power-steering pump and gearbox to fail. If the fluid is greyish and noises are emanating from the power-steering pump, both the pump and the gearbox will need to be replaced.
- 3). Examine the A/C couplings to determine if the O-ring seals are leaking. Any leaking seals will need to be replaced.
