All you need is a set of drawing pencils in different hardness's which you can pick up in an arts and craft store.
Drawing paper is a matter of choice among artists.
You can find paper with different textures from smooth to a little rough and you will find you like one over the other.
You can do your shading with your pencils and learning this step can be done by looking at pictures of cars to see how the light and shadows play on the cars surface.
Look at other car drawings to see how others have done it and learn from them.
If you decide you want to do color try water colors or markers.
One of these methods may be easier for you so play around with them to get a feel for it.
