The DVD Drive Is Not Working After Installing Vista
- 1). Click "Start," right click "Computer" and click "Manage." Click "Device Manager."
- 2). Click the arrow to the left of "DVD/CD-ROM drives." Right click your DVD drive and click "Update Driver Software."
- 3). Click "Search automatically for updated driver software." Wait for the program to look for a driver for your DVD drive. This may take several minutes. Click "Close."
- 4). Right click the drive again if it is still not working. Click "Disable" and "OK." Right click the drive and click "Enable." Restart your computer.
- 5). Contact the manufacturer of the DVD drive to see if the model is compatible with Windows Vista if it is still not working. You may need to replace the drive if it still fails to work properly.
