- 1). Log onto Big Apple Mobility (see Resources). BAM rents out manual and motorized wheelchairs as well as three and four wheel scooters. Rentals can be for three, seven or 14 days. You can reserve the chair of your choice directly on the home page by filling out the required information. You can also call Big Apple Mobility at (212) 662-4548.
- 2). Call Falk Drug and Surgical Supply. Falk has a smaller supply of wheelchairs but their prices are incredible. You can rent a wheelchair from Falk for as low as $55 a week. You can only place a rental order with Falk via phone. Call them at 212-744-8080.
- 3). Contact Scootaround Mobility Solutions (see Resources). Go to the home page and click on the “Rentals” tab at the top of the page. After you get to the Rentals page, fill out all of the information listed. Once you've done so, click the “Submit” tab at the bottom of the page. You will be emailed a quote once your information has been processed. If you have any questions or would rather speak with somebody regarding your order, call Scootaround at 1-888-441-7575.
- 4). Visit the Independent Mobility Solutions website (see Resources). Located in Clifton, NJ, IMS features state-of-the-art wheelchairs to ensure the ultimate in comfort and mobility. They also offer delivery and pick up service. To learn more about renting from IMS, email them at customerservice@independentmobilitysolutions.com. When writing the email, you will need to explain how long you will need the wheelchair and where you'll be using it (in the city, on a cruise ship). You can also call IMS at 800.854.9303 .
