The Medical Practice Act of 2004
- The act established the Medical Board of South Australia to regulate the medical practices in the area, including the education and registration of medical practitioners. The Minister of Health oversaw the board and had to nominate select members of the board.
- The act also retained South Australia's Medical Practitioners Professional Conduct Tribunal under the new name of the Medical Professional Conduct Tribunal. This tribunal enforced the conduct of medical practitioners while the Medical Board could endorse certain regulations.
- The 2004 act was repealed by the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act of 2010, which established the South Australian Health Practitioners Tribunal. The Medical Board of South Australia merged with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
