Portuguese is a language of one of the biggest countries in the world
Do you know that Brazil is the world's fifth largest country by geographical area and by population? It's also getting more and more important - Brazil is one of the most rapidly developing countries in the world.
Portuguese is also spoken in Portugal which is already a developed country and it's one of the most peaceful, globalized and beautiful countries in the world.
Keep in mind that Brazilian Portuguese differs from Portuguese that is spoken in Europe! 2.
Portuguese is the fastest-growing European language after English
UNESCO estimates that the Portuguese language has the highest potential for growth as an international language in southern Africa and South America.
So far, it's the official language of Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe and there are about 250 million Portuguese speakers worldwide.
3.
Portuguese is a Romance language
This means that it's similar to French, Italian and Spanish.
If you speak Portuguese, you can easily learn each of these languages and become a polyglot.
Why not? What's more, many English words are similar to Portuguese words (as well as Spanish, French and Italian) so if you speak English it will be way easier for you to learn Portuguese.
