Locate the computer's USB port. It is a small rectangular outlet about 1/2-inch long, and there are usually two or three per computer, marked with a three-pronged design. - 2

Align the drive's metal connector so that it fits snugly inside the port. Make sure the drive is secure and does not wiggle. The computer should recognize the new drive within 30 seconds and usually opens an "Autorun" window. - 3). Click on the option that says "Open folder to view files" and press "Enter."
- 4). Navigate---in the new window---to the destination folder and double-click the desired video file. The computer will load the file in a media-playback program such as Windows Media Player or VLC Media Player. A short buffering process is required of all video files, and, depending on the length of the video, can take from 2 to 10 seconds. The video will begin playing automatically once this is done.
- 5). Click on the playback buttons on the media player to pause, stop, go back, or step forward in the video. All players have a standard set of buttons. "Play" is marked with a triangle pointed to the right, and usually is replaced with the "Pause" button (two vertical bars) once it is selected. "Rewind" is two triangles pointed left, while "Fast-Forward" shows two triangles pointed right.
