How to Dissolve an Embedded Blackhead
- 1). Prevent blackheads from forming in the first place by using only noncomedogenic cosmetics, and skin care products. Also, wash your face twice a day with a gentle facial cleanser to help keep your pores clear.
- 2). Steam your pores open once a week. Put a pot of boiling water on a table or countertop. Carefully lean over the pot and drape a towel over your head, trapping the steam in. Let the steam open up your pores for about five minutes to ready your skin for deep cleaning.
- 3). Exfoliate your skin after steaming with a mixture of one part yogurt to two parts oatmeal. Lightly scrub your skin with the mixture and leave it on to dry. Rinse it off with cool, clean water.
- 4). Apply a benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid spot-treatment product to the blackhead daily. These products will further help to dissolve the blackhead and exfoliate the skin.
- 5). Moisturize with a noncomedogenic facial lotion daily.
