Ohio Urban Deer Hunting

    General Information

    • According to the department, hunters may take up to six antlerless deer in designated urban units as long as they have an antlerless deer permit or a deer permit. These urban deer are counted separately from bag limits in the permit's designated hunting zone. Hunters are required to follow all existing hunting regulations. In addition, hunters should always check with local authorities in order to know any additional local requirements.

    Columbus

    • The Columbus Urban Deer Unit encompasses all of Franklin County and a portion of Delaware County. A map is available on the the department's website.

    Cincinnati-Dayton Area

    • The department lists the Cincinnati-Dayton area Urban Deer Unit as being made up of the western half of Clermont County, Hamilton County, portions of Warren and Butler counties, as well as a part of Montgomery County.

    Cleveland-Akron

    • Urban deer hunting is available in all of Lake and Cuyahoga counties. Urban areas in parts of Lorain, Medina, Summit, Stark, Portage, Geauga and Wayne counties also allow urban deer hunting.

    Toledo

    • The Toledo Urban Deer Unit contains all of Lucas County and part of Wood County, north of the Maumee river.

    Youngstown

    • The Youngstown Urban Deer Unit is limited to part of Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
