Light can be captured through a lens to produce a photograph which captures what was happening at that precise moment in time.
This fact intrigues me enough not only to learn about it, but to perform that action myself.
The greatest passion in my life is photography.
One can simply push a button and that moment in time is captured forever.
Furthermore, that same moment can never be reproduced exactly, so every photograph is unique.
Every action that goes into making a photograph can be altered so that the photographer gets the result that he or she wants.
To be able to control something in such a powerful way intrigues me more than anything else.
Photography is extremely important to me because it gives me something that I can always improve upon, because there is no end to the knowledge.
Photography has so many variables that a single photographer can only perform one or two types of photography well.
For example, my main focus is on aviation photography.
I have been taking photographs of aircraft for over two years and am far from mastering it.
The persistence required to achieve satisfaction from a photo is what keeps my interest in photography high.
I enjoy taking photographs of anything that is able to be photographed.
Also, I am one of a few people in my area that has such a strong interest in photography.
Not many other people my age here have developed an interest in this hobby.
Knowing that not everyone else knows how to be artistic with their photos and take them properly makes this infatuation of mine much more worthwhile.
Photography is something that not everyone can do and no one can master, and that is what makes it special.
It is not like the many hobbies and activities that are readily available to almost anyone that wants to "try it out.
" Photography is expensive which makes it more difficult for people just to "try it out" and only do it for a short period of time and then give up.
It is something that is only for the ones that want to learn and are willing to be patient.
Photography keeps me occupied while so many other youth today are surrounded by more detrimental activities.
It gives me something to do so that I do not become involved with the stereotypical activities of a teenager in today's society.
So many young people today get caught up with the wrong groups of people that only bring them down in life.
Photography is one of multiple barriers from that.
Having a hobby like photography that keeps me occupied at almost all times really makes me happy.
I know that I do not need "normal" activities to be satisfied.
It is very important to me because so many people today don't have a hobby they can call their own, but I have the pleasure of calling mine photography.
Although many people enjoy photography in this great nation, it is a very special passion in my life.
