How to Find Your Internet's WEP Address
- 1). Ask your network administrator for your WEP code. If you do not have a network administrator and you do not know what a WEP code is, it is probable that your WEP code is not set.
- 2). Type your router's IP address. You can find this in your router's manual. Routers' IP addresses usually follow this pattern: 192.168.x.x. Where x.x stands for any one-digit number.
- 3). Enter your router's username and password. If you don't know what the password is, ask your network's administrator. If you are your network's administrator and you don't know your password or username, it is likely your router is still working with factory settings. In this case, your username is likely to be "admin" and your password is probably "password" or "admin." However, the default password does vary by model, so consult your user manual if these don't work.
- 4). Click on the wireless security tab of your router's main menu. If WEP is disabled, activate it and introduce your own WEP code. If WEP is activated and has a code you do not remember, go back to the main menu of your router and click on "Restore default settings." This should disable WEP security.
- 5). Click on "Wireless security" and choose a to activate WEP. Create a new code that you are likely to remember.
