She admits that she’s really glad he’s back and asks if he’s back for good.
He doesn’t know yet and relays how Sami’s in the Witness Protection Program. Chloe confirms this and Brady brings up Lucas, wondering if she’s happy. “Lucas and I get along really well,” she replies. He is surprised to hear that John and Nicole are friends, and even more stunned to hear that Chloe is also friends with Nicole.
University Hospital

DiMera Mansion
E.J. and Nicole return home after the prenatal visit, excited about holding their baby. E.J. agrees that they have a lot to look forward to and kisses her passionately. He pulls away, claiming that he needs to stop. Otherwise, he may not be able to stop.
“And, why is that a problem?” she questions. They kiss again and E.J. suggests they take it upstairs. She encourages him to go upstairs and she’ll meet him in his bedroom. After he heads upstairs, Nicole happily wonders what she’s going to wear. She then hears the doorbell ring and is taken aback to see Brady at the door.
Mickey and Maggie’s House
Melanie finds the same familiar stationary which her stalker used in writing the note. She briefly flashes back to receiving the daunting note under her door. She retrieves the note from her purse and realizes that Nick’s the one who wrote it. Nick soon emerges from the other room and notes how focused she seemed a moment ago. “What were you looking at?” he questions. A freaked out Melanie says she doesn’t like his tone. Nick denies having a tone and just wants to know what she was looking at. She relays the phone message from Maggie, then proceeds to go lay down, claiming she has a headache. He hands over her purse, then stops her and implores her to tell him what’s wrong. Melanie confronts him about living with an insane person who’s been trying to ruin her life. She displays the stationary and reveals that she found it in the drawer when she was looking for something to write on. She then pulls out the note and compares it to the stationary side by side, crying how she trusted him, then finds out that he’s been terrorizing her this whole time. Nick confesses that it was him who was terrorizing her.
A distressed Melanie questions why he would do this to her. Nick insists that he cares about her and felt a connection from the first time he met her. Melanie rehashes how she poured her heart out to him and told him everything. She wonders if Nick was trying to scare her into loving him, crying how he wanted some kind of power over her. “I did it....to protect you,” he interjects. She demands to know how he was protecting her, yelling how she couldn’t eat or sleep while she was being terrorized. Nick insists that he wanted to keep her safe and reveals that he saw what really happened the night her father was murdered. Melanie urges him to tell her the truth if he loves her. “Did you kill my father?” she asks. Nick flashes back to the night he stabbed Trent. “No Melanie. You did,” he lies. Melanie gets hysterical and begs Nick to tell her what happened at the cemetery. Nick expresses how worried he was about her and falsely recounts how he saw her struggle with the knife, then she stabbed him hard in the back, surmising that she must’ve fainted because she fell and hit her head. Melanie sobs upon hearing the concocted truth that she murdered her father. “What kind of person murders their own flesh and blood?” she cries.
She insists that she needs to go to the police, but Nick yells that she can’t. He warns her that she could go to jail for life. He implores her to go pack her bags since they need to leave Salem now. He warns a distraught Melanie that Bo and Hope are going to question both of them, and he doesn’t know if he can lie convincingly. “Melanie, I wanna protect you. This is our only choice,” he insists. Melanie is sold on Nick’s lies and rushes upstairs to pack her things.
Police Station
Hope looks over the suspect list when Bo enters the office. Hope admits that she can’t stop thinking about what Nicole said about the tall guy she saw at the cemetery the night Trent was murdered.
Hope soon gets off the phone and tells Bo that Nicole’s statement may pan out. After Hope gets off the phone again, she informs Bo that Nicole was right, in that there was someone else at the cemetery that night. Apparently, the caretaker named Ray Jackson lied to them. Bo recalls that they checked with cemetery security, who mentioned that there was no caretaker on duty that night. Hope confirms that Ray has a side job stealing headstones and plaques and selling the marble on the black market. Bo proceeds to put out an APB to see if they can find this guy.
Cheatin’ Heart
Bo and Hope later arrive at and see Ray the caretaker at the bar. They approach him needing to ask him some questions about the night Trent was murdered. Bo grabs a hold of him and summons him away from the bar, needing the truth. Ray claims he can’t help Bo because he wasn’t on duty. Bo tells him to cut the crap. He confronts Ray about his little side business of selling gravestones on the black market. He warns Ray to either start talking, otherwise, he’ll slap the cuffs on and drag Ray down to the station. Hope questions if he saw anyone else at the cemetery that night Trent was murdered. She displays a few pictures of Max, Nick, and Melanie. Ray points to Nick, admitting that he saw him at the cemetery that night.
