The Best Way to Cut Molding
- 1). Measure the width and length of the walls in the room for the molding with the tape measure.
- 2). Transfer the measurements to your molding. Make a cut mark with the pencil and then cut each piece of molding to the required length with the miter saw.
- 3). Set the miter saw to the right 45 degrees. Place the outside edge of the first piece of molding on the miter saw table. Make a 45-degree angle cut on the end of the molding.
- 4). Set the miter saw to the left 45 degrees. Place the outside edge of the piece of molding that will mate to the first cut piece. Make a 45-degree angle cut on the end of the molding.
- 5). Repeat steps three and four to cut additional pieces of molding to join.
