How to Write a Hardship Letter to a School
- 1). Date the letter. Enter the addressee information, including the name of the school official or administrative body and the mailing address.
- 2). Enter a salutation, such as "Dear Academic Probation Committee."
- 3). Identify yourself and your status at the school. You could say, "I am Paul Pauly and I am a junior at Get Degree Fast University."
- 4). State your hardship. Include details, such as time frame of the hardship and any steps you may have taken to minimize the impact of the hardship on your school attendance.
- 5). Express your concern about the impact of the hardship on your educational endeavors. Write a statement like, "Completing my degree is of great importance to me and I am concerned about how my inability to pay my school fees will impact my future attendance."
- 6). State that you would like to work out a plan so that you continue your education.
- 7). Provide your contact information and thank the school, in advance, for considering your request.
