Greece is more than just the home of the 2004 Summer Olympics, and there is much more to this small county of 2000 islands than just Athens. Greece is a country of ancient history, remarkable monuments, and spectacular scenery. Since much of the country is made of islands, a cruise vacation is a perfect way to see the wonderful Mediterranean country of Greece.

Santorini (Thira) - Greek Isles
Santorini has to be one of the most amazing islands I have ever visited. This island is the jewel of the Cyclades group of the Greek Isles. What makes it special is the magnificent volcanic caldera, which cruise ships can sail right into from the sea. A violent volcanic eruption a few thousand years ago caused the center of the island to sink and allow the sea to rush in. A view of the multi-colored cliffs dropping into the sparkling blue sea is breath-taking.

Mykonos - Greek Isles
Mykonos is one of the Cyclades, and it is probably the most popular and most expensive of the Greek Isles. The island is not as beautiful as some of the other Greek Isles, but it does have a charming capital to wander around and some good beaches. We loved exploring Hora, the main village of the island.
