Enjoying Barcelona, Spain can simply mean a walk down the most popular landmark in Barcelona known as Las Ramblas. This is an experience which allows one to mingle not only with other tourists from all over the world, but also to meet and greet the locals.

Whilst strolling along Las Ramblas, one can see the flower stalls, the newspaper stands, the market stands, the musicians, the comedians, the animals being sold, the cafes, the quaint little stores and the diners. There possibly is not a single item that one would not be able to find or purchase when walking through this area of Barcelona. When perusing Las Ramblas, it is best to just explore because there is so much to see and experience.

Culture

Some of the cultural and artistic places to be seen would be The Opera House (Liceu), The Santa Monica Art Centre (Centre dArt Santa Monica), The Contemporary Art Museum (Museu dArt Contemporani) and The Picasso Museum (Museu Picasso).

Plazas

There are so many sidewalk cafes that one does not have any time to be thirsty before moving on to another popular venue. Some Plazas or Squares to be encountered along the way are Placa Reial, Placa Sant Jaume, Placa de Sant Josep Oriol, Placa de Sant Felip Neri and Placa Del Rei.

Shopping

There is always shopping to be done while on vacation and a visit to the Portal de lAngel area should certainly be included in this stroll. This is by no means the end of our tour of Las Ramblas since one cannot forget that the Cathedral and the Santa Maria del Mar are all part of the scenic stroll.

Nightlife

Las Ramblas is not only for the day time but the night as well. There are numerous bars to be visited such as Robin Hood, Forrest, Opera and the London Bar to name a few. The music is by no means restricted to Spanish music since you can also hear jazz, R&B and rock amongst others. The nightclubs, the casinos and the restaurants are popular as well and these well attended venues remain open until the early hours of the morning and on a Sunday night they may very well be open until 5:00 a.m. since in most cases they are closed on a Monday.

No one can deny that there is a little bit of everything to be found at Las Ramblas from the admirable architecture along the popular route to the food, people and culture. Las Ramblas has it all!
