The Top 5 Mistakes Christians Make While Dating

103 2
Whatever you do, do not make these critical dating mistakes next time you're on a first date! What this article is about is really how you act on that first date.
Because let's face it, if you look like a greek god (or just John Stamos) and act like a jerk, no woman is going to want to go out with you again.
So here are some tips to remember on your first date with the person you are interested in: Don't be needy: Don't use self depricating language and come across as somebody who is needy and clingy.
Give the other person their space.
Don't act like you need their love or their approval in order to be happy.
Quite confidence is extremely attractive.
If a man or woman wants to add to your own existing hapiness, then so be it.
But your hapiness is with you right now and is not dependent on that other person.
This follows whether your married or single.
Remember be you would want to be with.
People make this mistake all the time and it ends up having the opposite effect.
Don't tell your life story: Being attached to your life story is something that people get wrapped up in.
Remember you are not your story anymore than you are your thoughts.
Your story and your thoughtlife don't even come close to encompasing the essence of all that you are.
People aren't interested anyway.
I see this all the time with people.
They will talk about why or how they are the way they are.
Don't talk about past relationships: This can be a common mistake.
Many times people might find common ground if they both have dated the same "style" or "type" of person in the past.
But we recommend keeping this to a minimum.
People don't want to hear how many people you've dated or been with no matter what you may think.
At least they don't want to hear this information on the first date.
The first date is meant to be fun but then also leave some mystery so the person doesn't get all of you and then there is nothing left for the second date.
Don't talk too much: On the first date I've found a lot of people have nervous energy.
How do they calm themselves down? By talking of course.
Don't let this happen.
If you really want to get a second date, ask your date questions about them and by the end of the date they won't know much about YOU.
So naturally if they liked you, they'll want to go out again to find out more.
There is no worse turn off then somebody talking too much.
Not only is it rude but it's a sure fire way to not have more interactions with that person.
People don't listen: I've also been on dates where the other person is doing nothing but talking (about themselves of course) and it appears as though they just want to hear themselves talk.
It also comes across like they are not interested in you at all either.
Listen more and speak less.
We have 2 ears and 1 mouth.
Use them wisely, and you'll get a second date.
