How to Seal Stone Wall
- 1). Conduct a porosity test on the wall in question. Drop 1 tsp. of water on the surface. If it is absorbed quickly, it requires treatment, but if it sits on the surface for a few minutes or more, the wall has probably been treated.
- 2). Clean the surface and allow it to dry. The surface must be free from any debris or dirt.
- 3). Pour sealer in the roller tray. Hold the roller and gently roll it through the sealer until it has absorbed a decent amount.
- 4). Apply sealer coat to the wall moving the roller in one direction only. The impregnating sealer should be absorbed within minutes. If there is no surplus to wipe off, additional coats are probably needed.
- 5). Apply additional coats, allowing two hours for the stone to absorb each coat before applying the next.
