Can a Disabled Facebook Account Be Re-activated?
- Re-activate your Facebook profile by pointing your browser to the Facebook homepage and logging in to the site using your email and password. If you created a unique username for yourself on the site, using that username in lieu of your email is an option. Facebook sends a confirmation email to you containing a link; click on the link to confirm the re-activation.
- Because you must click on the link in a confirmation email to re-activate your account, it is imperative that you maintain access to the email address Facebook has on file for you. Close your email account, and you may not be able to restore your Facebook account. If you are unsure about which email address Facebook has on file, visit the "Account Settings" menu before you de-activate your account. Click the "Change" link in the "Email" section to ask Facebook to use a different email if necessary.
- When you re-activate your Facebook account, the site restores your profile to the exact form it was in when you disabled your account. Photos, status updates and your friend list all appear unchanged. The comments you once left on friends' walls, group forums and under photographs are also still on the site and you still "Like" the pages you previously linked to your profile.
- Facebook does not notify your friends when you de-activate or re-activate your Facebook account. Of course, friends with whom you frequently interact on the site are likely to notice your absence. Update your status or leave a comment on someone's wall to let people know that your account is once again active. When you re-activate your account, Facebook will begin to send you notifications again about activity on your profile.
