The largest area is the Grand Montets which ranges from 1235m up to 3000m.

They are also the newly opened snowpark and boardercross at the mid station of Lognan.
If you're looking for scenic panoramic skiing then Brevent/Flegere is the place to go, these 2 ski areas were link by cable car in 1997 and offer skiing from 1030m up to 2525m.
The south-facing slopes offer great variety for all abilities as well as stunning views of Mont Blanc.
The Domaine de Balme from 1453m up to 2270m offers a variety of pistes on 2 mountain sides - On the Charamillon side they are gentle wide open runs with views of the Chamonix Valley, and on the Vallorcine side there are classic tree lined runs that border Switzerland.
If tree lined pistes are your thing, then head for Les Houches which offers lots of forest runs from 950m up to 1900m, the area benefits from 110 snow canons, so snow is guaranteed all season long.
If you're a beginner skier or snowboarder Chamonix has plenty of lower ski valley areas for you to improve your technique.
Les Planard (1062m to 1242m) is situated 2 minutes from the town centre and has 4 runs for beginners and intermediates.

La Vormaine at 1480m is located at the foot of the Charamillon mountain side and is ideal for learner skiers and boarders.

And lastly for novices there is Le Savoy (1050m) in the heart of Chamonix at the base of Brevent with a rolling carpet and 2 drag lifts as well, this is a great place for your first attempt at skiing or boarding.
