103 8
Are you having a hard time dealing with a break up? It doesn't seem to matter who broke up with who-it still hurts.
You feel an emptiness inside of you that you can't seem to fill with anything else.
This is something that you can get over.
Follow these five steps for moving on.
1.
Realize that you need to express your hurt in order to let it go.
It is okay to cry.
Crying can often be a good release.
This doesn't mean that you should walk around sniffling and crying all of the time.
Let yourself have a good cry and go on.
You may also find it helpful to keep a diary or journal.
Expressing yourself on paper often helps you deal with your pain.
Another good way to do this is to write a letter to your ex love.
Pour yourself out in this letter.
Remember the good times and the bad times in your relationship, express the hurt that you are feeling, then destroy the letter.
DON'T send it to your ex.
This is a good way to get closure when you are breaking up.
2.
Realize that your relationship is really over.
If you try to hold on to this past relationship, you will never get over this past love and move on with your life.
Do something for yourself that will symbolize the end of this relationship.
Gather up all of his personal property and return it to him or get rid of it in some way.
Symbolically clear him from your life.
3.
Rely on your friends.
Until you meet that one special person that you will spend the rest of your life with, you will probably date a few guys.
The guys will come and go but your girlfriends will usually be there for years.
If you have been in an exclusive relationship for a while, you may have neglected your friends.
Reconnecting with them at this time will help you get over your guy and will give you a boost in your social life.
You have the added of advantage of shared experience.
Your girlfriends have, more than likely, had similar experiences.
Being able to share your experiences will help you realize that others have been there before and survived and you will too.
4.
Now that you are no longer devoting so much time to your relationship, you will find that you have extra time on your hands.
Make good use of this time.
Focus on you-go to the gym, get in shape, or take up a new hobby.
You could also join a class or group.
This will help take up some of your new spare time, but it will also get you interacting with new people and making new friends.
5.
As hard as it may be, you have to move on.
With all of the new stuff going on in your life, (renewing old friendships, making new friends, pursuing a class or hobby) you will find that you are a new person.
If you follow this breaking up advice, you will find that these steps for moving on will help you through the hard times in your break up.
