    • 1). Call your bank's customer service number or go to your bank or a financial service provider such as Western Union. A list of Western Union locations can be found on the company's website (see References). If transferring funds from a financial service provider, shop around to find the best rate. Typically the lowest wire transfer rates will be offered by your bank.

    • 2). Explain to the representative that you would like to transfer money to a Bank of America bank account.

    • 3). Provide the representative with the recipient's name and the address of his Bank of America branch if known. You will also be required to provide his account and routing numbers as well as the amount to be transferred.

    • 4). Provide the representative with your bank account information so she may verify the availability of the funds. If you are transferring funds to a Bank of America account from a financial service provider, you may use your debit card or cash. Once the transfer is complete, the representative will give you a receipt of the transaction.

Wire transfers sent from your bank will typically appear in the recipient's Bank of America account instantly, while transfers from financial service providers may take up to five business days to process. Typically, the financial service provider will guarantee faster processing for an additional fee.

    • 5). Western Union also allows you to transfer money directly to a bank account from its website. To access this service, visit its website and click "Send Money" at the top of the screen, select "Direct to Bank" and then enter the information requested, which will include the information that must be provided in person. When sending a transfer online, "debit" is the only available payment option.
