Massage Therapy For Tension Headaches

We all tend to live life in the fast lane.
We work too many hours, live outside of our means and think our bodies are never going to give out.
When we struggle to meet the expectations we place on ourselves, we tend to suffer from tension headaches.
These painful pauses in life are accepted as part of living the American dream, and we do little to solve the pain aside from popping a few over the counter pain pills and move on the next task.
Tension headaches are directly linked to stress and stress can cause impairment of the immune system which leads to sickness and more tension.
The cycle can be stopped with the help of a massage therapist.
Massaging the Tension Away Tension headaches tend to start at the first signs of stress.
The pain begins when the muscles of the neck stiffen.
This stiffness is an unconscious reaction to stressors in life that may include trouble at work, arguments at home and difficulty with children.
The stiffness can be compounded by sleeping on a mattress lacking support or tossing and turning at night, again linked to stress.
Eventually, a tension headache appears and irritability, pain and undue suffering result.
Massage therapists are trained to work out the stiffness of the muscles directly related to this pain.
In addition to physically removing the tightness in the neck, the atmosphere and attention to self can reduce stress.
Few people take the time to step out of self imposed expectations and allow themselves the freedom and pampering deserved.
If tension headaches are recurring and life seems a bit overwhelming, spending just 30 minutes in the massage chair, once a week, can mean all the difference.
When the tight muscles are loosened and the body returned to a calm state, life may not seem like it is so overwhelming after all.
