Forestry Grants or Scholarships for Pennsylvania
- There are a variety of scholarships available to students pursuing a degree in forestry at the Pennsylvania State University campus in Mont Alto. The Bartlett Tree Foundation Scholarship is awarded to forestry students who are interested in a career in either urban forestry or arboriculture. The Roland Joseph Riebold and Myrtle O'Connell Riebold Scholarships is available to both two-year and four-year forestry majors who can demonstrate financial need. Other Penn State Mont Alto forestry scholarships include the Richard E. Rose Scholarship and the Francis H. Wallace Memorial Award.
- The Northern Tier Hardwood Association offers scholarship to Pennsylvania forestry students each year. These scholarships are awarded in the amount of $500. To be eligible, an applicant must be a resident of Bradford County, Sullivan County, Susquehanna County, Tioga County, Wyoming County, Wayne County, Lackawanna County, Luzerne County or Pike County. Both graduating high school seniors and current undergraduates are eligible to apply. All applications must be received by April 1 in order to be considered.
- The Warren County Conservation District offers scholarship support to Pennsylvania forestry majors through the Eckert Scholarship. The Eckert Scholarships is awarded annually in the amount of $500. To be eligible, an applicant must be a resident of Warren County and must be pursuing a degree related to conservation. The annual deadline for application is April 1. Recipients are selected on the basis of prior academic achievement, personal recommendations, experience, a personal statement and financial need.
- Although the Pennsylvania Forestry Association does not extend scholarship support to college students, it does offer scholarships to middle school and high school students in Pennsylvania who would like to attend a forestry workshop. Students must submit a statement of 300 words detailing why they would like to attend the workshop. Scholarship support is also available for Pennsylvania teachers who would like to attend a forestry workshop. The amount of support for both students and teachers is $100. The annual application deadline is April 1.
