• The Compaq Presario 5000 comes loaded with a 750 MHz AMD Duron Processor complete with 128KB L1 Pipeline Burst Cache and 64KB L2 Pipeline Burst Cache. It also contains 64 MB 100 MHz SyncDRAM and three total DIMM slots upgradable to 768 MB.
  
  

Grapics and Audio

• The Compaq Presario 5000 motherboard is optimized for the nVIDIA TNT2 Vanta LT Graphics Card, which contains 8MB video memory and is capable of pushing 128-bit hardware-accelerated 3D graphics. For audio the motherboard uses the SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (AD1881) card, which allows users to play music files and CDs on their computer.
  
  

Expansion Bays and Interfaces

• Upgrading the Compaq Presario 5000 is a bit challenging. It comes with four PCI expansion slots, but two of them are used by the modem and the graphics card. This gives the user a limited number of slots left for upgrading. The interfaces for the Compaq 5000 include VGA connection for your monitor, mouse and keyboard ports, four USB connection ports, a parallel port for your printer and audio and phone ports for speakers and modem.
