Breaking News! Swahili is Slowly Taking Over the Media

103 2
One thing we can all be sure about is that Swahili is soon going to be a global force to reckon with.
Have you ever wondered how the English people got almost the whole world to speak their language? Well for one, they were extremely aggressive and even used brute force when they deemed it necessary.
The English squashed foreign speakers in Scotland killing hundreds in the process.
That's why more than half of the world speaks English in the present times.
Now while Swahili speakers are definitely going to be more civil about spreading their language, the fact remains that sooner than later it's probably going to get accepted as an International language.
Soon, just like its biggest competitors English, Spanish and French, everyone is going to speak Swahili.
Now just for the record, I'm not some "disillusioned writer obsessed with the desire for Swahili to rule the world and take over people's lives forever" type of guy.
No.
I just honestly believe that such a rapidly growing language will eventually get world attention.
So anyway, why learn Swahili? Where's the motivation? The fun? Let me give you 3 good reasons why you should learn Swahili today: 1.
It's obviously the fastest growing language in Africa.
So if you're planning on visiting or doing business here, it would probably be a good idea to "learn the lingo" 2.
Certainly it's very easy to learn.
Unlike French or Chinese which have weird alien-like characters and pronunciations, Swahili can be 100% learned using nothing but the English alphabet.
Words are laid out clearly and in a logical fashion.
In fact, so many are now doing it who previously never thought they could.
3.
"Everyone's doing it!" Ok, this probably isn't the biggest motivator, but seriously.
BBC Radio has a Swahili service.
Apparently even Yale University offers Swahili courses.
And the most exciting fact of them all, HOLLYWOOD has been using it to make box office hits.
Do a quick research on Lion King and Madagascar.
They both incorporated Swahili into their stories, and look how far they went! Imagine, for a moment, that it's a month from today...
your friends and colleagues are shocked as you speak fluent Swahili right in front of them...
clearly, softly.
It's certainly possible.
Go for it.
