Is It Time For A "Zero-Attachment" Policy?

Many companies want to protect their brand and take securing their trade secrets and product brand seriously.
What spurs a company to get consumers interested in their product? Consumers like voting for an underdog and rooting for a product where they can feel "connected" to the product.
For instance, if customers feel they can get behind a product, such as a Barnes and Noble Nook, it may propel the brand past a rival such as Amazon.
If customers have a reason to vote for the underdog, it may help a company win favor over their competitors.
But, are helpful employees harming a company's marketing efforts by not hosting a 'zero-attachment' policy? Some attachments may contain hidden spyware.
But, this practice isn't the only one that can hurt companies that offer online services? In an effort to secure customer loyalty, some companies make employees keep any information about the company off social media websites, such as Twitter.
Other businesses monitor employees on and off the clock.
Some business owners may make employees sign a social media policy, defining what employees can access online.
Did you know that having a policy can help boost a company's image, increase product sales and increase how customers relate to the company brand? Should a company have a Twitter Account? It may help a company to attract customers.
Did you know that Twitter can be used to help a company to stand out from competitors? Companies can use their social media accounts to help distinguish themselves from their competitors.
Did you know something as simple as the font used for blog posts can attract customers? A font also can be a recognizable part of your company's brand.
Do not go overboard with the fonts though.
Only two or three will suffice to get the point across to consumers and set the company's product apart from competitors.
Above all, a company that wants to attract and keep customers must be consistent with their weekly web posts on Twitter or, even Facebook.
Posting every few days, to daily, will give customers something to look forward to seeing.
However, some company heads may be reluctant to embrace Twitter or Facebook.
Doing so, may open the company to the possibility of hackers stealing trade secrets.
However, it also may be beneficial for many companies because customers have the opportunity to share their experiences centered on a company's brand and participate in a friendly rivalry between an underdog company and its competitor, another rival company.
Should a UK company embrace Facebook or Twitter? Isn't it nice to see a healthy rivalry between two UK entities, such as Victoria Railway Station and one of the many London's many double Decker buses around the City? However, many businesses may shy away from social media because there is a danger of security holes using social media programs, such as Twitter or Facebook.
Used responsibly, having social media account can benefit companies.
They also shouldn't worry about losing sensitive data, if they have a data loss expert on speed dial.
