How to Fill a Canon PG 30 Black Ink Cartridge
- 1). Find an area where you will be able to easily clean up spilled ink. A garage or outside area would be ideal. Put a stack of paper towels on a flat surface and place the ink cartridge on the paper towels.
- 2). Use the drill to make a hole in the impression on the top of the cartridge, just below where the "B" is on the cartridge's label. Be careful to not continue drilling once you have made a hole large enough to insert the syringe's needle.
- 3). Insert the syringe's needle into the ink bottle and fill up the syringe with 20 ml of black ink. Insert the syringe's needle into the small hole you made in the cartridge and slowly fill the cartridge with the ink.
- 4). Clean off any spilled ink from the cartridge and leave the hole you drilled uncovered. Reinstall the cartridge in the printer and close the cartridge access door.
- 5). Run the printer's self-cleaning utility three. Allow the printer to sit overnight if possible before printing.
