How to Install a Ready Lift
- 1). Park your vehicle in a space wide enough for you to work freely. It must be parked on a flat surface. Lift the front of the vehicle by using a floor jack and a jack stand to support the vehicle while its tires are not touching the ground.
- 2). Start with the driver's side wheel. Remove the wheel with the cross-shaped wrench or any type of wrench compatible with your vehicle's wheels. Set it aside and proceed with removing the upper and lower mounting nut and bolt. Remove the shock and place the shock extension and mounting plate included in the kit and reattach the upper and lower mounting nuts and bolts and replace the shock with the torque wrench.
- 3). Remove the old torsion key. Every vehicle is equipped with a torsion key. Remove the old torsion keys and replace them with the ones included in the Ready Lift Suspension Kit. The bolt for this key is by the door. Reconnect the wheel and proceed with the other side.
- 4). Do the same procedures to the passenger's side wheel. Remove the wheel and mounting nuts with the same tools. Be careful in tightening the nuts and bolts and the torque on each must be checked. Reattach the wheel.
- 5). Have the wheels realigned. If you do not have enough knowledge and tools to align wheels, take your vehicle to a mechanic to have your front wheels realigned. When you remove the wheels, chances are their alignments are off and you need to have them corrected to avoid any damage to the vehicle and accidents. Do not skip this procedure because it is necessary. You now have the choice to replace your front tires with bigger ones.
