How to Decorate a Child's Computer Desk
- 1). Provide adequate desk lighting so your child doesn't strain his eyes while working. Choose a decorative desk lamp featuring a metal or wood base, depending on the overall style of the room, and a shade in the child's favorite color.
- 2). Hang a corkboard or pegboard above the computer desk to help your child stay organized. Tack homework assignment reminders as well as personal items, such as movie stubs and pictures, to the board. Cover a board's plain wood frame in any color acrylic paint to add vibrance to the space.
- 3). Decorate the desk surface with a few knick knacks to reflect your child's interests. Place a framed photo of your child with her friends or family in one corner of the desk. Enhance the desk with a glass jar of seashells if she loves the beach or a sports trophy.
- 4). Manage desk clutter with individual supply containers. Choose clear plastic organizers to hold paper clips, rubber bands and pens and pencils so they are easy to view.
- 5). Hang a wall shelf within your child's reach to the side of the computer desk. Use the shelf to store books, magazines and decor items such as a vase of flowers or framed artwork.
