- 1). Set the pot aside, and allow the grease to cool and harden.
- 2). Scrape the bulk of the hardened grease away with a spoon or spatula into a trash can or grease disposal container. Wipe the greasy areas with paper towels or cloths to remove as much of the grease as possible.
- 3). Apply distilled white vinegar to a sponge or cloth, and wipe away the grease. If necessary, apply the vinegar directly to the greasy area, wait 15 minutes, and then wipe away the grease.
- 4). Repeat as needed until you've cleaned the grease completely from the pot. If you're dealing with a pot that has scratches or grooved pattern marks, sprinkle baking soda or salt on the area, and then rub gently to dislodge the grease. Reapply additional vinegar to remove the baking soda or salt.
- 5). Rinse the pot under hot, running tap water. Dry the pot with a soft cloth.
