How to Hang Posters Without Nails
- 1). Dust a smooth surface, such as a countertop or table, with a dusting cloth. Place the posters face down on the surface. If you don’t have enough room on the table or countertop for all the posters, just do one at a time.
- 2). Remove poster tape (also called mounting strips) or poster putty from the packaging. Poster tape/mounting strips can usually secure more weight than poster putty. Use this if the poster has a cardboard backing or is in a frame.
If using poster tape, remove the backing from one side to expose the adhesive. Carefully stick this on one corner of the poster. Repeat with a strip on all four corners.
If using poster putty, use a piece the size of a dime for each corner and press these pieces, respectively, to all four corners. - 3). Measure up the wall, using measuring tape, to the height at which you want the top of the poster. Make two small marks, one for each top corner, with a pencil.
- 4). Lift the poster carefully off the table and take it to the wall. Line up the top corners with the marks you made. If you are using poster tape, remove the backing to expose the other side of the adhesive at this time.
- 5). Press the top corners of the poster firmly to the wall. Run your hands down the middle of the poster to smooth it. Remove the backing from the bottom corner strips, if applicable, and press each bottom corner firmly to the wall.
