How to Play a Copied PlayStation 2 Game Using Gameshark
- 1). Grip the front cover plate of the PS2 on both sides and pull it off. The cover plate snaps on and off the console rather easily, so be careful not to break or snap it when prying it off.
- 2). Insert the GameShark memory card into a memory slot on the PS2, then power on the console. Press the eject button on the unit to open the CD tray, then insert the GameShark disc into the drive. Close the drive. Wait for the GameShark menu to appear on the TV screen.
- 3). Scroll the GameShark menu options, then press the "X" button on the controller when you reach the "Start Game" option. Wait for the "Please insert game disc then press X to continue" prompt to display on the screen, but do not press the "X" button yet.
- 4). Locate the white plastic tab next to the PS2 CD drive, then use the paper clip to side the tab all the way to the right. This will allow you to open the CD drive tray without alerting the PS2's onboard computer that you did so. If you press the eject button on the drive, this procedure will not work. Pull the drive tray out of the drive gently.
- 5). Remove the GameShark CD from the PS2 drive after the tray opens. Insert the burned PS2 game disc into the drive tray. Push the drive tray gently to close it. Again, do not use the eject button to close the tray.
- 6). Use the paper clip to slide the white tab connector (next to the drive) all the way to the left.
- 7). Press the "X" button on the controller to launch the game from the burned PS2 disc.
