The Checks Are On The Way
If you have been watching the news, you know that the economic stimulus checks are coming.
You may not be sure who is getting them, when they are coming, or how much they will be.
I can help you out with that! The first batch of checks was scheduled to go into peoples bank accounts on Friday, May 2nd.
The checks started early, on April 28th.
Anyone who got their tax refund by direct deposit whose Social Security number ends in 00-20 should have the money in their account by May 2nd.
Those whose Social Security number ends between 21-75 should have the money in their account by May 9th.
And finally, those whose Social Security number ends between 76-99 should have the money in their account by May 16th.
Those who did not use direct deposit for their 2007 tax returns will get paper checks in the mail.
The schedule is this: Those Social Security numbers that end between 00 and 25 should be mailed in May.
Those Social Security numbers that end between 26 and 75 should be mailed in June.
Finally, those Social Security numbers that end between 76 and 99 should be mailed in July.
For specifics and even to see where your check is, go to the IRS website.
If you did not file 2007 taxes, and you may be eligible for this stimulus payment, you must file your taxes - even if you do not usually have to file.
If you do not file, you will not get the payment.
Most payments will be $600 per person and $300 per dependent child.
There are income requirements, and the amount may vary.
There is a payment calculator that you can use on the Internal Revenue Service website.
If you want to use the payment calculator, be sure to have your 2007 tax form handy.
Remember, if you owe child support, student loan payments, or back taxes, your payment amount may be reduced.
The checks are in the mail, the first batch is already in some consumer bank accounts.
Remember, use this money wisely.
Invest it if there is any way possible.
If you are in need of extra monthly/yearly income, use this to create that income that you need!
