How to Clean Stainless Steel Tableware
- 1). Use a damp cloth dipped in warm, soapy water to clean the tableware. Dry carefully with a clean dish towel.
- 2). Wipe the tableware with a mixture of baking soda and water if the stains remain. Be sure to wipe in the direction of the grain of the metal of the utensil. Some tableware, such as large serving spoons, will have a noticeable grain in the metal. Rubbing in the direction of the grain will help to protect the finish.
- 3). Scrub off stubborn stains using a nylon or plastic scrubbing pad and hot water. Avoid using a stainless steel scouring pad since this will scratch the surface and ruin the tableware's finish.
- 4). Wipe off the cookware using vinegar and a soft cloth. You may substitute rubbing alcohol for vinegar.
- 5). Wash off the tableware in warm water to remove any soap, vinegar or baking soda residue. Dry with a soft cloth.
