7 Ways For Lazy Gals to Lose Weight For Good

103 2
You're heard it before.
You've read it already.
So why aren't you doing it? You do want to take charge of your health.
Feel better, look better.
And once you see some results, you will be inspired to go further and do more.
A year from now, you will look in the mirror and think, "who is that gorgeous gal?!" Why not start small, with these 7 simple steps.
1.
Eat fruit - and only fruit, any kind you like - for breakfast.
Mornings can be time crunched.
Buy a pineapple, papaya, oranges, strawberries, blueberries and grapes.
Cut the big fruit into chunks and keep it in the fridge.
In the morning, wash some berries and grapes.
Get a bowl, fill it with fruit.
Sweet and tasty! A great way to start the day.
Need a mid morning snack? Eat a ripe banana.
Or brew a cup of peppermint or herbal tea (skip the sugar).
2.
Drink a glass of warm water with real lemon juice before or with meals.
Squeeze 3-4 lemons and keep the juice in the fridge.
Add 1 tablespoon to a glass of warm water.
Lemons are acidic - but in your body, the acid is neutralized and actually makes it more alkaline.
That's a good thing.
3.
Take small bites and chew 25 times or more.
Food that's been chewed to a puree is easier to digest, so you'll have less bloating and discomfort.
With soup or mashed sweet potato, the job is done, so eat slowly.
Learn to enjoy and appreciate the taste and texture of the food you eat.
4.
Try eating your meal on a dessert plate.
It will feel like you're eating more.
Your eyes will be fooled, and so will your stomach.
Why not eat with a dessert fork or teaspoon, too? 5.
Go for a 20-30 minute walk after you eat.
This helps speed your digestion.
Walk before dessert and you may find you don't want any.
If you do, have an oatmeal cookie, a handful of granola mixed with plain yogurt, a chunk of dark chocolate or ½ cup of low-fat frozen yogurt.
(Fruit should be eaten alone so it's not a good choice for dessert.
) 6.
Eat less, do more, lose weight.
It's a simple formula.
You eat 3 to 5 times a day, right? So break up your exercise time - take several mini exercise breaks during the day.
Skip the elevator and walk down the stairs when you can.
Do some stretches at your desk.
Walk around the office a couple of times.
Get off the bus or train one or two stops early and walk the rest of the way.
You'll get to know your neighborhood (and maybe a cute neighbor?) Invest in some light weights, a yoga mat and an exercise ball.
Learn a few simple moves.
Work out while enjoying your favorite TV shows.
Or during commercials, instead of reaching for a snack.
7.
Stick with it.
Keep at it.
Don't give up.
Sure, some days you're going to do better than others.
A big meal with the in-laws; a birthday cake for a colleague.
You work late and are too tired to exercise.
You overindulge at the buffet on your girls' night out.
Stuff happens.
Don't beat yourself up about it.
Take the long view.
It took you years to get overweight or out of shape.
There's a Chinese saying: a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Remember, every little bit helps.
It all adds up.
Stick with it and look at where you are in a month.
In six months.
Like I said, at the end of a year, you'll look in the mirror and ask, "who is that gorgeous gal?!" You'll do a double take and realize - "hey, it's me!"
