There are many reasons for exercising but weight loss shouldn't be the goal.
Let's face it we'd all like to lose some flab or fit into those pants but is that motivation enough to get into shape.
Why do we hurt ourselves to lose weight? In general what specific training you do is much less important than just doing something.
But what should you look forward to as soon as you begin exercising? Less chance of heart attack and osteoporosis: By exercising and eating right you lower your bad cholesterol, blood pressure and have an overall lower level of stress.
Training with correct form also increases bone density and thereby reduces your risk of osteoporosis.
Less depression and more self-esteem: When you are active your body produces endorphins.
Endorphins are feel good hormones and medical journals have shown that the calming and balancing effect of the endorphins can be as great as taking anti-depressant medication.
